Who is this camp for:

This camp is perfect for any student aged 13+ who wants to do some more coding over the midterm break or who wants to learn a little bit more about the Leaving Certificate Computer Science course.

NEW students:

New students in this camp will dive into the basics of Python, covering key programming concepts such as variables, data types, and conditionals. Through guided exercises aligned with the Leaving Certificate syllabus, they’ll get hands-on experience writing their first lines of code. For students already in our core coding classes, this is an excellent opportunity to apply their existing knowledge to a new language. Under the supervision of expert tutors, new students will build a strong foundation, ensuring they feel confident and prepared to progress into more advanced Python topics.

Experienced students:

Experienced students will focus on strengthening their Python skills by tackling complex programming challenges. They’ll explore advanced topics such as lists, functions, and algorithms, testing their knowledge with tricky questions designed to push their abilities. Additionally, students will work on mock Leaving Certificate exam questions, offering them an excellent opportunity to assess their current skill level and prepare for the final exam.

Our experience with the LCCS course:

We at the Academy of Code have been teaching the LCCS course for the past four years in several leading schools, including the Institute of Education, CUS Secondary School, Coláiste Eoin, and Coláiste Íosagáin. Our students consistently outperform national averages, achieving top marks in the subject. Last year, our students secured 2.5 times the national average number of H1s, reflecting the quality of our teaching and their dedication.
