CODING SUMMER CAMPS 2025

Coding Camps for Kids & TEENAGERS (Ages 9-18)

Learn to Code!

Open to coders of all skill levels (beginner-advanced). Our tutors tailor camp content to each student’s existing coding experience & ability!

This summer, students discover the exciting world of coding through languages including Java, Scratch, HTML-CSS, Python and more. Whether it’s your first time coding with us or you’re a returning student from a current or previous term, our structured program is delivered by expert tutors whose core focus is your child’s coding skill development! See what’s in store below, and don’t forget to take a look at our Digital Creators camps too, where we offer app design, game design and creative digital media courses.

Small Groups

With just 5-7 students in most breakout rooms, you’ll have a chance to get to know your tutor and your classmates. You’ll also have plenty of help as you start your journey to mastering the world of coding!

Live Tutors

Our team of expert tutors include our full time academic staff as well as some of the top computer science and computer engineering students from Ireland’s leading colleges (e.g. Trinity College, UCD, DCU, UCC, and NUI Maynooth, to name but a few!)

Fun Content

Clear code samples are presented every step of the way. Tasks are fun, projects are engaging, and the handouts are full of extra challenges and tips from top coders. There’s something for everyone, no matter if you’re starting in our junior group or setting yourself up for leaving cert or university success in one of our senior groups.

WHAT WILL MY CHILD LEARN?

Whether you’re a total beginner or have some existing coding experience, we make sure that students enter our Pathway to Computer Science program at a level that is appropriate to them.

BASIC - ADVANCED
CODING

Students ages 7-10 start coding with Scratch (block based programming), while students ages 10+ will dive straight into Processing (Java based programming) - learning to create digital projects, games, and more!

PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

Coding helps to develop brainstorming and decision-making skills. These are priceless life skills, and learning them through coding helps them to really come alive!

FUNCTIONAL

LITERACY

We teach basic keyboard skills, desktop management, window resizing, and all the other basic controls a child will need.

COMPUTATIONAL

THINKING

Computational thinking underpins everything we do. We teach students to take a complex problem, understand each part of it and develop possible solutions.

DIGITAL

CREATIVITY

Learn how to use digital tools and technologies to explore creative ideas and new ways of displaying your ideas, research, or work.

ONLINE WELLBEING

Students will explore ways to manage their online wellbeing and build digital resilience while exploring the internet.

Online class format

Zoom Rooms
Students log into Zoom using an ID and password we send ahead of class. All students are required to have their webcams on, so it’s not just a room of blank, black boxes - we can all see and hear each other, and interact pretty much how we would during an in-person class!

Breakout Groups
From the main class Zoom we break students into groups of roughly 5-7 students. Each group is assigned a tutor who will generally stay with them throughout the term, giving everyone plenty of time to get to know each other. Tutors will explain the work and ensure all students have the necessary resources, and then (just like in our in-person classes) students will spend most of the class coding.

Screen Sharing & Tutor Interaction
All students share their screens throughout the class, so our tutors can “walk the room” and keep an eye on how everyone is doing, and help out where required. Tutors will ensure that your child is placed in a class suitable to their age, ability, and experience - continuing their journey to becoming an expert coder!

CAN I JOIN FROM OUTSIDE OF IRELAND?

Yes! Our online coding classes are open to anyone with an internet connection, an interest in technology, and having fun! We have students coding from Ireland, Europe, the US, and the Middle-East, to name but a few.

FAQs

  • Yes! Each of our tutors puts their own spin on the summer coding camp they’re leading, so no two weeks at our summer camps are ever quite the same. Students who have coded with us before will really be able to hone their skills and take on new challenges this summer! The beauty of our offering is that regardless of what stage of coding your child is at, there is nearly always a next step or challenge waiting for them along our 10-grade Pathway to Computer Science curriculum. The long term vision is that your child will progress through our pathway, building confidence and knowledge as they complete each grade, developing computer literacy, computational thinking and 21st century skills (not just creating computer programmers!).

  • We encourage students (especially beginners & novice coders) to sign up for a 2+ week summer camp, as this will give them a really solid learning foundation. Moreover, students usually love the first week and want to do another one (or three!) but then can't, because we're already sold out and can't offer a place for the extra weeks. We offer a flexible refund policy, so if at any stage you decide the summer camp just isn't working out, we're always happy to find a solution that works for you!

  • All students will need access to a Windows, Mac or Linux computer/laptop. A working webcam is also required (a built-in laptop/computer webcam is fine!) Please note: iPads/Tablets/Chromebooks cannot be used for our camps.

  • Our HQ is in Dublin, Ireland - but as our classes are held in a virtual classroom, you can join our coding classes from just about anywhere!
